Wetland Trail is gentle, just over 2 miles (3.5 km), lovely views and a stone path. There are gradients and the trail is bumpy in places, especially after rain. It is suitable for pushchairs but manual wheelchairs would require a very strong helper. Two self-drive tramper mobility scooters are available to hire - these can access the full wetland trail and viewpoints but must be parked outside of the hides. A variety of seating with and without back support, some with/without arms and high perching seats.

Access to the beach is limited to a steep concrete ramp by the windsurf club. Access elsewhere is made extremely difficult due to shifting sand and pebbles. The sand is very fine and may cause damage to your wheelchair. We therefore recommend using our beach wheelchairs which can be borrowed for a small deposit. There is no charge for this, just a deposit of £20 which is fully refunded when the wheelchair is returned.
These beach wheelchairs are popular and it is advisable to book in advance to avoid disappointment. To make a booking, please contact the estate office on 01243 514143 (Monday to Friday 9.00-16.00).
Each of our three toilet blocks has an accessible toilet which can be accessed with a RADAR key. Keys are available from the kiosks, office, cafe and lifeguard tower, when open.
To assist our less able visitors to enjoy the beach, we have two Sandcruiser (adult) and a Sandpiper (child) beach wheelchairs, two were very kindly donated to us for our visitors' use and the third one we provided ourselves
