Toilet facilities for wheelchair using passengers are currently available at Hythe, Dymchurch, New Romney and Dungeness stations.
The railway has coaches adapted to carry wheelchairs. With on-board ramps, panoramic windows and four seats for accompanying helpers, these coaches are available on any train by prior arrangement. Wheelchair accessible carriages are also available on the day on a first come, first served basis.
Gift shops at Hythe, New Romney and Dungeness are easily accessible for wheelchair users.
The Model Exhibition (New Romney) has the use of a stair lift for passengers with limited mobility.

Our facilities have been carefully designed with the mobility impaired visitor in mind. There are parking spaces for Blue Badge holders near to the platforms at Tenterden Town and Northiam Stations and accessible toilets at Tenterden, Northiam and Bodiam. We are proud to boast a specially designed coach called Petros, which is fitted with ramped wheelchair access, wide aisles, moveable seating and an accessible toilet.
Some of our other carriages have ramped access too and there is full wheelchair access to the shop and Station Refreshment Rooms at Tenterden Town Station. The Colonel Stephens Railway Museum has level access with 42" aisles. The Tenterden ticket office is fitted with an induction loop.
We recommend that visitors with special needs or specific requirements telephone our Booking Office (01580 765155 Mon-Fri 09:30 - 17:00; Sat & Sun 09:30 - 13:00) for friendly assistance: accommodation may be reserved by telephone on any train service at no additional cost. A carer ticket is available for registered carers. These tickets may only be purchased by telephone or in person on arrival. When collecting your carer ticket, we ask that you produce one of the following documents: Entitlement to Disability Living Allowance (for children under 16) or Personal Independent payments (for those aged over 16); Attendance Allowance or Carer's Allowance letter of award; Incapacity Benefit book, or a letter notifying the recipient that the benefit has been awarded; A Certificate of Visual Impairment; A letter from a GP or consultant (dated within the last 12 months) confirming the need for a full time carer.

High Elms is home to two 'Trampers'. These are all-terrain wheelchairs designed for use over rough ground, mud and grass. If you are interested in using these to access High Elms Country Park please contact the Parks and Greenspace team.

We offer a unique experience of the River Medway from 1 hour trips to 3 hour cruises (with commentary). The Kentish Lady is also the perfect venue for your wedding reception and/or private party.
Providing easy access for standard wheelchairs, the Kentish Lady has excellent facilities including washrooms, heating and a fully licenced bar. While waiting for the boat to dock, you can relax and enjoy the scenery at our Refreshment Kiosk.

Samphire Hoe covers a 30-hectare site at the foot of the famous Shakespeare Cliff, between Dover and Folkestone (Kent).
Located between Dover and Folkestone in Kent, Samphire Hoe is a place for both wildlife to thrive and people to enjoy.
Wheelchair and pushchair access
Samphire Hoe is wheelchair and pushchair friendly. There are toilet facilities including those for the disabled (RADAR key) and a baby changing room.
There is a recommended 'access for all' way around the Hoe. The route follows the front path, signposted "West shore via the Hoe" passing through the chicane. The full circuit is 2km long. The section through the Hoe is tarmac; the sea wall is smooth concrete with two ramps giving access to and from the middle terrace providing good sea views. The average gradient is 1:15 with some steeper sections and occasional cross slopes maximum 1:25.
The World Garden is accessible by wheelchair or mobility scooter except for the polytunnels.
The ground floor of the House is accessible by wheelchair or mobility scooter but the first floor is not. There are 27 steps up to the first floor.
The Church is also accessible.
Wheelchairs are available upon request and there are concessions available for those with a disability.
Lullingstone is open on Fridays (except Good Friday), Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays between March and October.

Beach Within Reach wheelchairs are available for use from 10.00 to 16.00 every day including Bank Holidays from mid-May until the beginning of September.
They are sited on the following beaches. Minnis Bay, West Bay, St Mildred’s Bay, Westbrook Bay, Margate Main Sands and Viking Bay in Broadstairs. Ramsgate Main Sands wheelchair is currently available at weekends only and this can be subject to change. The wheelchairs can be booked in advance using the booking form on the location pages but without a confirmation from the charity the booking can not be guaranteed. The Beaney has an accessible entrance at Best Lane, with step free access into the building, a platform lift and a flight of ‘easy going’ steps, which are comfortable for the ambulant disabled and allow for push chairs and other mobility equipment.
The building has accessible toilets on all levels plus baby changing facilities. Our split level reception and library counters have been used throughout to allow access for both standing and seated visitors.
A 12 space disabled car park is also available at the rear of the building, along with accessible public toilets.
To assist the visually impaired, we also have braille signage and maps available.
Access to Roman level is via a lift*, then level access throughout. The museum is fully accessible for people with disabilities and we offer a range of activities including tactile tours and multi-sensory object investigation sessions for blind and partially sighted people.
We extend our concessionary rate to guests with a disability.

A stunning Tudor House with magnificent gardens on the banks of The River Cray in Bexley.
The historic house is on two floors, with level or ramp access throughout. There is a lift to the first floor and ramps as an alternative to steps. The nursery and glasshouses are also accessible to wheelchair users. There are a limited number of hard standing paths throughout the formal gardens and designated parking for disabled drivers which are l located nearest the large stone gate to the site.
The approach to the house is via the Nursery and Visitor Centre, a distance of approximately 100 yards. Seating is available along the route, and two wheelchairs are available for use on site for those who find walking difficult. We also have two mobility scooters courtesy of the Bexley Association of Disabled People that can be borrowed by those that are familiar with how to use them.

Land train with wheelchair lift to transport customers between car park, medieval restaurant and NAAFI restaurant. The land train is equipped with a wheelchair ramp, however please note that this is suitable for conventional wheelchairs only, and is not able to accommodate larger mobility scooters or powered wheelchairs.

Our adventurous trips afloat are staffed by specialists who ensure each person can share experiences, challenge their self-perceptions, extend their horizons, and discover new opportunities.
At the entrance area there are plenty of wheelchairs for hire, which are free of charge to use – all we ask is that a set of car keys or similar are left with reception whilst the wheelchair is in use.
Animal enclosures have either glass viewing windows set at seating height or wire mesh sides with a push off barrier – such barriers have been set to ensure that viewing is not interrupted for wheelchair users.
The grounds in the park are accessible via tarmac paths which in some areas may be on a slight incline, however the whole park is accessible with no steps.

We also have a fully accessible toilet by the main reception which is complete with an adult changing bench and hoist. Managed by our helpful Customer Service team, we can provide both electric scooters and manual wheelchairs for people who have difficulty walking without assistance. There are disabled toilets located on the same level as the yellow car park (level 01) – one floor up from the red car park (level 00) which are accessible by lift from the car parks or on South Square near Muffin Break and opposite Super Drug.
